Marc Summersgill
Since graduating from Sunderland University in 1989 Marc has worked in various media; drawing, painting, photographic and more recently computer and web graphics. To date he continues to develop his imagery and techniques to improve the richness and depth of his paintings.
Whether it is the sun shining through trees in dark woody forests, the sharp contrast of light and shade on buildings in the late afternoon or tropical fish darting through a coral reef Marc’s work is about the interplay of light and colour. Marc admires some of the greats of painting: John Singer Sargent, Paul Klee, Mark Rothko, Velasquez.
